GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) is the practice of optimizing how brands appear inside AI-generated answers across platforms like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, and Grok. It is a distinct discipline from traditional SEO, focused on being mentioned and cited in synthesized AI responses rather than ranking in search engine results pages.

Why it matters

When a customer asks an AI platform “best HR software for Indian startups,” the AI synthesizes an answer that names 3-5 brands. If your brand is not among them, you are invisible to that customer. GEO is the discipline that measures and improves this visibility.
